The central air-conditioning comes on at 7.30am and switched off at 6.30pm, with temperatures on average at 21ºC.
Last one to leave any department is responsible to switch off all lights. Lights are also switched off when no one is present in the department, such as during lunchtime, meetings or an event.
UNITARians are encouraged to turn taps off when soaping cutlery and other utensils.
Faucets and pipes and constantly checked for leaks as we are aware that even a small drip can waste 50 or more gallons of water a day. If a leak is identified, we rectify the problem within the same work day.
We print on both sides of a paper to reduce paper use, and where one-sided printing is required, we reuse these papers when placed in recycling boxes.
We flatten all cardboard, newspaper, magazines, office paper and common mail for recycling as it makes it easier to be processed and leaves more room for other recyclables.
